neobitch pointed out elsewhere that Livejournal appears to have fired over three quarters of its staff, and linked to this handy utility for backing up one's livejournal. Not that one expects the site to disappear tomorrow -- but if anyone was counting on some fancy new photo-management feature, I wouldn't hold your breath.

In related news, it is bizarre to read my first journal entries. 2002 was a long time ago. I miss being a person who thought it was a fine idea to post a rambling mini-essay on Sigmund Freud. It is terrible to look backwards at oneself, I suppose, and to make comparisons. But even so I feel diminished.
